The Portsmouth Music and Arts Center’s Sixth Annual Jazz Night http://www.glynnhouse.com/calendar/#march_2013 replicates a Jazz Club in the intimate setting of The Music Hall Loft—the kind of club you might have visited in New York City in the late 40s or 50s. This year’s band features eight of the region’s top jazz musicians with Chris Klaxton on trumpet, saxophonists Matt Langley, Eric Klaxton and Russ Grazier, guitarist Bryan Bergeron Killough, pianist Mike Effenberger, drummer Mike Walsh, and Nate Therrien on bass. The evening features music spanning the past century - celebrating jazz history and introducing new works of today.
