Five Star Review: “Love our annual Glynn House trip!”

The guests who wrote this review have been staying with us annually for seven years. They’re a discerning couple. It’s very satisfying to know that we continue to meet and exceed their expectations. Their room tip is ‘spot on’. Our luxurious suites, all with double whirlpool baths and romantic fireplaces, are so nice guests just don’t want to leave. Our multi-course, gourmet breakfasts are very special. Great food is available away from the Inn too. Six Burner Bistro is one of a dozen excellent restaurants easily accessible from the Inn.

"All right ... my husband and I stayed here (again) Valentine's Day/President's Day weekend, and he's been reminding me ever since to write this review. This was our six or seventh consecutive year going to Glynn House. We love it and we look forward to our February visit all year.

We cannot recommend this place enough. Glenn, Pam, and Ingrid are really wonderful and will go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay. In fact, this year I forgot that we would be there on a Friday night that also happened to be Valentine's Day, and that getting a dinner reservation might be tough. Glenn actually made one for us without being asked, just in case (at the Six Burner Bistro in Plymouth, which was delicious).

Speaking of delicious, you need to check out Glynn House if only for the incredible breakfast. So good! Looking forward to our visit next year!” Room Tip: Get a room with a fireplace and jacuzzi - you won't want to leave Stayed February 2014, traveled as a couple

Five Star Review: A Delightful Relaxing Stay

We promote the Inn as a great place for romance, recreation and relaxation. The reviewer, who’d never stayed with us before, underpins our message - “For such a last minute and short trip, my husband and I were delightfully surprised at how lovely and refreshing our stay was.”  The Inn’s evening social hour - wine and hors d’oeuvres - continues to prompt rave reviews from a large number of guests. The social hour really does provide a wonderful opportunity for people to meet other like-minded guests, and to chat with the innkeepers. Our five pet friendly rooms are incredibly popular. A huge number of dog lovers have discovered us because they didn’t want to leave their four-footed canine pal at home, and they wanted to stay at a really nice place.

“We booked our two night stay at the Glynn House Inn for a last minute ski weekend my husband and I decided to take. Booking was easy. The Owners were happy to accommodate our late check-in (as we were driving in from Boston after work). We stayed in the Carriage House in the Harding room and couldn't be happier that we could bring our Pomeranian Taz. The room was clean and inviting and the extra touches that were in place for Taz were a wonderful touch!

We missed breakfast the first morning as we were up early to hit the slopes but were welcomed back with an evening of hors d'oeuvres and complimentary wine & beer. We had wonderful conversation with the other guests including Pamela (one of the owners) and Miles Davis (one of her four-legged pups).

We had a wonderful dinner at the Common Man (just a short walk from the Inn) and retired back to our room for a relaxing evening w/ a cup of tea as beverages and light snacks are available 24/7 in the common area.

The next morning we were welcomed by Glenn for a wonderful breakfast with all the other guests. The fresh fruit, banana muffin, coffee, OJ, stuffed french toast (which was delectable) and my husbands bacon and eggs, was more than enough to send us off on our way back home to Boston.

For such a last minute and short trip, my husband and I were delightfully surprised at how lovely and refreshing our stay was. We look forward to returning to the Inn, time after time again, throughout all seasons of the year!

Thank you Glynn House Inn for making our stay just what we needed for a short weekend getaway! -Ian, Alissa and Taz" Stayed March 2014, traveled as a couple

Five Star Review: “A Relaxing Private Getaway with Friendly Hospitality.”

We’re always thrilled when first time bed and breakfast users select the Glynn House Inn. We know
from experience that travelers who have a great initial bed and breakfast experience will return to small, individually owned and operated properties again and again. Why? Bed and breakfast provide a unique environment. Every property is different. The innkeepers really have local knowledge and can share their experience with guest. When you own your business, the hospitality you offer guests really is genuine.

“Service and breakfast were wonderful. Great experience for our first time in a bed and breakfast. The location was easy to find. It was close to a few places to eat including the common man in Ashland. I would very much consider staying there again.” Stayed March 2014

Five Star Review: “Love this place!”

I wanted to take this opportunity to write a very belated reply to the wonderful guests who took the time to share their Glynn House Inn experience with other travelers. The Inn now has five canine friendly rooms. Pet owners continuously tell us how surprised they are to find that are pet friendly rooms are beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless. Many tell us that our property is the only dog friendly property they’ve ever visited offering five star quality, pet friendly guest rooms. Our breakfast menu menu keeps getting better and better. We now offer at least 12 entree options each morning. Entrees are preceded by fresh fruit, juices, freshly baked muffins and ‘gallons’ of delicious coffee and tea.

http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/new-hampshire-ashland-glynnhousevictorianinn-reviews.html

“This was our second time we visited The Glynn House Inn. The first time back in June, we brought our 13 year old dog with us. The first night we were there, we ended up in the Vet ER with our dog. We had to leave early from the Inn and return home to care for our sick dog. We paid for both nights, but only stayed for one. They did send me a voucher in the amount of one night, but only after I asked for it in an email a couple weeks later. When we arrived for our second time there, the Inn Keepers were so very welcoming, and seemed happy to see us. They were very empathetic about our dog, whom we had to put to sleep a few weeks earlier. We were finally able to enjoy the Inn completely and make better memories there. The room was awesome! It was, pretty, comfortable, etc. The bed was decent and the double spa jetted tub was heaven sent to us. Breakfast was at 8:30am, which was very tasty and kept us full well into the afternoon. They serve fresh fruit, homemade warm muffins, coffee, tea, juice and a choice of savory or sweet meal. We very much enjoyed the food. The Innkeepers were very friendly and helpful. While we were checking out, we had a really fun chat with Ingrid and Pam.  We look forward to going back, with our new dog someday.” Stayed July 2010, traveled as a couple

5 Star Review: “A Great Stay”

Guests stay at the Glynn House for many different reason. Spending time together in our elegant guest rooms is just one example. For those of us leading stress filled lives, sitting in front of a romantic fireplace or relaxing in a soothing double whirlpool tub, is “just what the doctor ordered”. The couple who graciously wrote this review also went outdoors enjoyed the spectacular White Mountains and Lakes Region scenery. Skiing is a very popular winter recreation activity. Five great ski mountains are situated within 25 minutes of the Inn. Many thanks to the couple from Boston for sharing their experience with other travelers.

“My husband and I stayed for a night in the Monroe room. It included a fireplace and jacuzzi tub, which was something special that we do not usually get when taking overnight trips. It is the only hotel/b&b that we have stayed at where we wanted to spend as much time in the room as possible! Glenn, was very available to answer any questions and made us a very nice breakfast in the morning. We left the Inn and went skiing at Ragged mountain, which was also great and a very short drive. Next time I think we will try a different room just for fun to see what it is like!” Stayed March 2014, traveled as a couple

Five Star Review: Our Third, Enjoyable Stay at Glynn House Inn - Mar 2014

Many regular guests tell us that the Washington Deluxe Suite is their favorite. The round sitting room
is amazing. The double whirlpool and romantic fireplace provide the perfect setting for romance and relaxation This reviewer selected two of our ‘special touches’ to compliment her stay. Our couples massage is absolutely wonderful and exceedingly reasonable - only $70 per person for one hour massages. Our Glynn House Welcome - a bottle of quality wine and plate of delicious cheeses and other goodies - is really tasty and is always popular. Thanks for deciding to stay with us again.  Thanks too for sharing your experience with other travelers.

“My husband and I stayed in the Washington Suite this past weekend and we had a beautiful time. Glynn and his family are the reason we had an enjoyable stay. With all the local activities we attended in the local area, it was nice to know we had a warm, inviting and home-like atmosphere to come back to where we could be ourselves and unwind. We enjoyed a couples' massage in our room and took advantage of the Welcome package and Jacuzzi tub Sunday. I only wish we had known about this inn when we planned our honeymoon, we absolutely would have stayed at Glynn House instead. The hospitality, cleanliness, dining and overall value are unmatched by any other place. I have nothing but praise and thanks for Glenn,Pam and Ingrid. John and I look forward to staying with you again!!!”

Five Star Review: My 2nd Stay - Feb 2014

It’s always satisfying to read that guests had a wonderful time at the Glynn House Inn. Like many
other visitors, this couple raved about our gourmet breakfasts. Fresh fruit, juices and freshly baked months provide are only the beginning. We always offer a dozen hot entrée selections, sometimes more. Again, like other guests, this couple enjoyed staying in an exquisitely maintaining 19th century Victorian home. The charm and character need to be experienced to be fully appreciated. Thanks for sharing your comments with other travelers.

“My wife and I stayed at Glynn House Inn for 2 nights last month and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food they prepare for breakfast is absolutely amazing, as is everything else at this historic and charming inn. We have no complaints, just praise to Glenn,Ingrid & Pam for a job well done. We appreciate everything they did for us and we look forward to another visit this year.…”

Five Star Review: ‘Great Time at the Glynn House”

Each year, the Glynn House Inn hosts a large number of first time bed and breakfasts patrons. Virtually all are return to our property and other quality B&B’s. Why? Many first time visitors tell us their tired of “cookie cutter” chains offering impersonal service and boring food. They enjoy staying in an elegantly furnished, classic Victorian home. They appreciate the personalized concierge services we provide. They enjoy our gourmet breakfasts. Perhaps most important, our guests tell us they appreciate the genuine hospitality they experience. We’re so pleased the reviewer chose the Glynn House to celebrate their 32nd anniversary. We look forward to seeing them again.

“This is the first time my wife and I had tried a bed and breakfast Inn. We had a great time this weekend at the Glynn House. The Inn is a tremendous Victorian style house. It was very clean and welcoming. It was the dead of winter and the Inn was warm and comfortable. Glenn and his wife Pam were great hosts. They were very accommodating but not over bearing. Glenn offered advice on things to see in the area and the breakfasts were tremendous. Pam is a great cook and the house keeping did a great job in straightening the room while we were out sightseeing. This was our 32nd wedding anniversary and my wife and I were so glad we found the Glynn House Inn. The Inn provided a very nice selection of wine and hors d’oeuvres from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM where we were able to meet some of the other guests at the Inn. Glenn provided advice on the local restaurants and even had their menus on hand. Our room was a two room suite that had a sitting area with a TV and Direct TV, wireless internet connectivity and a sleeping area that expanded into a bath area with a Jacuzzi and shower. The rooms were very clean and warm. It was a great winter get away and we were happy we chose the Glynn House Inn for our first Bed and Breakfast experience.....I am sure we will be back at the Glynn house again - maybe see what it is like in the summer!!” Stayed February 2014, traveled as a couple

Five Star Review: “Excellent Staff and Accommodations”

The guests from Massachusetts who wrote this review have expectations shared by many Glynn House guests. They want to be pampered. They enjoy delicious food. The want to stay in an environment that’s suitable for a couples retreat. We’re delighted the Inn scored ‘five stars’ on all counts. We look forward to their next ‘couples retreat’.

“When we go away my wife and I like to be pampered. And that is how we felt at the Glynn House. We were greeted at the door with Glenn offering to carry our bags. Glenn brought us to our room and showed us how to use the fireplace and where everything was.

Breakfast, wow is all I can say. If you want service go here and stay for breakfast. When we went to eat breakfast in the morning we chose a table by the window, a perfect ending for the weekend. As soon as we sat we were given a delicious plate of fruit with a choice of juice. This was followed by Coffee and a Strawberry banana muffin. We then chose our main courses for breakfast. I had scrambled eggs with goat cheese and a side of salsa. My wife had the home made Belgium waffles. The entire breakfast had excellent taste and presentation. If you want to impress a loved one, GO HERE.” Room Tip: The Harding room was perfect for a couples retreat. Stayed February 2014, traveled as a couple

Five Star Review: “A Great Stay”

Wow! Our guest from Boston has written an incredibly detailed review of their Glynn House stay. Delivery exceptional service is one of our core objectives. We’re delighted our visitors felt that service and hospitality were first class. The Grant Junior Suite offers visitors tremendous value - elegant decor, lots of natural light, romantic fireplace plus a double whirlpool - all for $20 more than a regular bedroom.

“Last weekend my girlfriend and I stayed in the Grant Jr. Suite, at the Glynn House Inn. We arrived after spending the afternoon doing some dogsledding in the area. In looking for a place to stay overnight after our dogsledding adventure, we settled on the Glynn house as it seemed to be a B+B that offered tremendous service, first-class accommodations, and a reasonable value. After staying there, our suspicions were confirmed: the Glynn House Inn was just what we were looking for.

When we arrived, Glenn welcomed us and took us for a tour of the downstairs area. There is a beautiful dining area, and a small sitting room where afternoon snacks and wine are served. We were impressed with the cleanliness and quality of the rooms and upholstery. We were pleased with Glenn's manners, friendliness, and professionalism.

Our room, the Grant Jr. Suite, was fantastic. We loved the fireplace and the double whirlpool put the room over the top! One nice thing about the Grant Jr. Suite is that it is a corner room so we had really nice natural light coming through both windows. Glenn, when he showed us our room, pointed out the space heater he plugged in so that we could immediately get the room to our desired temperature. This small gesture is a microcosm of the service and attentiveness of Glenn and the Glynn House Inn as a whole.

The wine and cheese hour was a great touch, and, had we wanted, Glenn would have kept on filling up our glasses! The next morning we went down to breakfast: a classy affair with fresh fruit plates to start, coffee and juice, delicious homemade muffins, and made-to-order entrees such as pesto poached eggs and stuffed pancakes. Our stomachs were full and our taste buds satisfied. Again, Glenn's attentiveness and table-side manner as a waiter were superb.

We were very impressed with our entire stay at the Glynn House Inn. We'll be recommending it to friends/family, and we'll certainly be back again. The only reason we gave the 'value' a 4 out of 5 is because, for us, the room was expensive; however, given the service, snack hour, breakfast, and beautiful rooms, the price makes sense.”

The Glynn House Inn is surrounded by great ski resorts. Gunstock, Ragged, Waterville Valley, Loon and Cannon are all less than 30 minutes away. “This is a great place to spend few romantic days and do some skiing as well. Whoever I take there (this was my third time), they love it. My present girlfriend enjoyed it very much. She especially enjoyed taking relaxing bath with the fireplace on.” Stayed January 2014, traveled as a couple

Five Star Review: “Our favorite getaway location”

We’re very pleased our guests from Epsom, NH, decided to stay at the Glynn House Inn for five consecutive years. We’re thrilled that each stay has been exceptional. The Adams Suite room tip is reiterated by many other guests. The suite is beautifully decorated, offers lots of natural light and includes our largest double whirlpool. Our location really is perfect. We look forward to hosting the couple from Epsom again next February.

“We have been visiting Glynn house annually in February for five years now. We always choose the Adams Suite because we love the layout and amenities it offers us. It is thoroughly private, quiet, and luxurious. We love the warmth and ambiance of the gas fireplace and the indulgence of the double Jacuzzi tub. The draw for us the stellar service, the amazing breakfast offerings, and complete privacy. The surrounding area offers many activities for outdoor lovers, shoppers, and many fine dining choices. Our goal is simply to get away and completely relax. We have never been disappointed and guarantee our next visit will be in February of 2015.”
Room Tip: We love the carriage house which is located behind the main house. The Adams Suite is our favorite…

5 Star Review: “Perfect Romantic Getaway”

The Glynn House Inn is a very special place for many of our guests - proposals, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays - are all particularly important events. Since most of us live busy, stress filled lives - a getaway in spectacular New Hampshire provides a much needed opportunity to relax and ‘recharge batteries’. It’s always satisfying for the Inn’s owners to have guest return again and again. Thanks so much to the guest from Boston for sharing their experience with other travelers.

“My husband and I first stayed at The Glynn House in 2007 and have been back every year since (my husband proposed to me here in 2008! Complete with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries arranged through the inn.)This beautiful Victorian Inn is the perfect location for a weekend away. We especially love visiting in the Winter- it's so nice to come back to our room at the end of the day and sip wine by the fireplace.
Glenn, Pam, and Ingrid are such warm and welcoming hosts and do everything they can to make you feel at home. They are so kind and you can see what pride they take in the inn. No detail is overlooked. There are so many little touches (warm cookies fresh out of the oven when we check in, tea/coffee waiting outside the room every morning, robes in the room, little journals in each room where guests write notes about their stay- just to name a few). The rooms are beautifully decorated (we have stayed in the Monroe Suite and Grant Jr. Suite) and very cozy.

Glenn is so helpful with planning and booking any area activities (snowmobiling, sleigh rides, etc.-some places even offer a discount if you book through the inn) and can make dining reservations for you as well. He is very knowledgeable about the area and makes great suggestions. You really can just relax and not worry about a thing during your stay. If you prefer to relax in your room, there is a great movie library in the kitchen to borrow DVDs.

The innkeepers host wine and hors d’oeuvres in the evening where you can mingle with them and other guests in the parlor. Breakfast is just amazing- coffee/tea, fresh juice, fruit, warm muffins, and your choice of a sweet or savory meal. The stuffed french toast is my personal favorite!
When booking your stay, there is also the option to add special touches. We enjoy the welcome tray which includes wine, cheese, and crackers. Definitely check out the options on their website- it's a nice way to make your stay even more special.
The Glynn House is a very special place in a great location (so many options for activities, shopping, dining). We highly recommend this B&B to everyone we know and are already looking forward to our next visit!” Stayed February 2014, traveled as a couple

Five Star Review: “A romantic, fun filled weekend” - February 2014

Thanks so much to the return guests from Southern NH, who were kind enough to share their experience with other travelers. Many of our guests find our ‘special touches’ are a nice way to compliment their stay. The champagne and chocolate covered strawberries package, which the reviewer ordered, is a particular favorite. During the winter months, Inn guests get terrific discounts on snowmobiling tours, which are also terrific fun. What better compliment to than having guests book their next visit before they walk out the door.
W

“My hubby and I stayed last night at Glynn House Inn for our second time and we enjoyed every moment. The inn keepers are gracious hosts that truly enjoy what they do. Our stay lacked nothing,we had everything we wanted and the inn keepers even helped my husband surprise me with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room. That just reaffirmed my belief that Glynn House Inn is the best of the best in NH,there is nowhere else we want to stay. They helped us book a snowmobiling adventure at a discounted price and we had a blast.  The inn is located just minutes 10 from the Common Man restaurant, in fact we walked to the restaurant and as we walked back it was snowing, it was the perfect ending to a wonderful weekend. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked our trip for next month before we checked out, see you on March 1 & 2 Glenn.”

“My wife and I spent part of the Christmas holidays at the Glynn House Inn, and sharing in that stay were my 16 year old daughter and her 16 year old friend.

We had a terrific experience. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Each day begins with a choice of excellent breakfasts which were fresh, hearty and healthy. Over breakfast, our host Glenn Heidenreich was very helpful in suggesting activities for the day, places to eat, and even assisted us by booking reservations.

Our three days flew by and we look forward to returning. Even our teenagers enjoyed the stay and managed to put the cell phones away in order to participate in all that there was to do. The Glynn House Inn is conveniently located in a beautiful part of New Hampshire and offers a most pleasant base to explore the Lakes and White Mountain region. The owners could not be more accommodating and helpful to their guests.” Room Tip: Visit the website to appreciate the options that the variety of rooms will offer.

“My fiancé and I recently stayed at the Glynn House for my 30th birthday. It was a beautiful Inn located in a small town in the White Mountains section of NH. The Inn was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Our room was on the main floor of the house and was very romantic with a fireplace and whirlpool tub. The bed was extremely comfortable and relaxing. Our Inn keeper Glenn was very kind and we enjoyed wonderful conversations with him during our check-in and the next day at our breakfast. The breakfast menu had great choices and we really loved their homemade raspberry and white chocolate muffins (I'm kicking myself for leaving before asking Glenn for the recipe!). Our stay was wonderful and I would highly recommend this Inn for any couple looking for a romantic getaway in the White Mountains.” Stayed December 2013, traveled as a couple

Glynn House Inn: “Christmas Getaway”: Reviewed Jan 2014

The Christmas visitors who wrote this review nicely illustrate why young families enjoy the Glynn House too. Whilst they enjoyed a romantic fireplace in the luxurious Roosevelt Suite, their young daughter played with her toys on the rug in front of the fireplace.  A breakfast menu with lots of choices makes it easy to satisfy the most finicky eater, even those less than two years old. Snow covered New Hampshire landscapes really are picture postcard perfect and easily accessible for visitors – like the couple who wrote this review – who reside in the Boston area.

"Our stay at Glynn Inn was great. We went there during Christmas, it was very quiet which was good for relaxing. The suite we stayed was fantastic with a fireplace and a whirlpool tub. It was snowy too, so it was really romantic...Everything we need was provided by our kind host, Glenn. He was very nice, we had small conversations while having breakfast and we enjoyed it. The breakfast was really delicious, even my 18 months old daughter who is really a picky eater and doesn't eat much, finished up her plate. We need to take the recipe of that scrambled egg, we couldn't replicate it at home again lol... I already start recommending it to my friends, we would definitely stay there again, I am glad that we found this gem in New Hampshire.” Stayed December 2013, traveled with family

Glynn House Inn: A B&B Favorite From Frequent B&B Goers” – Reviewed Jan 2014

Many thanks to our guests from Brooklyn who’ve taken the time to share their experience with other travelers. Our location in the heart of NH’s White Mountains and Lakes Regions is absolutely perfect for anyone who likes the outdoors.  Our guests continue to rave about our delicious gourmet breakfasts – 12 + entrée choices, fresh fruit, homemade muffins and gallons of tasty coffee. Lots of guests, including this couple, tell us how much they enjoy the evening wine & cheese social hour. It really is a nice opportunity to meet other visitors who often have similar interests.

“My girlfriend and I are frequent B&B stayers. So much so that I can't recall the last time we've stayed at a conventional hotel. Glynn House is on our very short list of all time favorites. Superb breakfasts, lovely rooms, and a great location are all reasons we love this place, but most of all it is the personality and feeling that the innkeepers add that make it a favorite. Glenn, Pamela and Ingrid really love their job and it shows. Another nice touch at Glynn house is the preprandial wine and cheese in their gorgeous parlor in front of the fireplace (we go winters.) We love talking with other guests and somehow conversation is never scarce. Glenn is expert at keeping it going, but I think guests are so relaxed that it comes naturally, anyway. Honestly, I believe Glenn is happiest when he has thought of another way to make your vacation more enjoyable (reservations, activity suggestions, best hikes, restaurants, you name it.) We love the outdoors, and we love New Hampshire, and we would never think of staying anywhere else when we go.” Stayed December 2013, traveled as a couple
