“Go to the Glynn House when you want to put your mind in neutral, and NOT worry about anything at all. Glenn, Pam and Ingrid are the best hosts one could ask for. Wonderful to receive such a superb review from a couple who are definitely quite discerning! Our guest rooms are all elegantly decorated but each has a unique décor and character. The Coolidge Deluxe Bedroom is a favorite for many guests.  The evening social hour provides a great opportunity to interact with other travelers whilst having a glass of wine and cheese or hors d’oeuvres. Everyone raves about the breakfasts – I just serve. Our location – in the heart of New Hampshire’s spectacular lakes and mountains –is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor recreation and enchanting scenery. Our guests from Maine – via Mississippi and Texas - celebrated their third anniversary at the Inn.  The suite they stayed in, named after President Monroe is very spacious and has lots of natural wood. The Canoe Restaurant and Tavern www.glynnhouse.com/area/id4.htm is a Glynn House guest favorite. The menu offers changing selection of delicious choices – many with more than a hint of New England. The restaurant’s ‘signature’ dish is Macaroni & Cheese with Lobster. It’s incredible, but the portion is large and sauce is rich, so it might be prudent to share. The décor is very New England. Views of the lake are delightful. Service is excellent and prices are reasonable given the first rate Canoe is less than 15 minutes drive from the Glynn House.

Our solo October traveler wanted to hike and spend time with his delightful canine Roscoe. Hiking choices – from easy to quite difficult – are virtually unlimited and a very large number are readily accessible from the Inn. Our canine guests – as the reviewer noted – enjoy comfortable beds, treats and a warm welcome. “I spent a couple nights at Glynn House back in October and had a wonderful time. Now I was up in NH to do some hiking with my dog Roscoe and the both of us were treated very warmly when we arrived. The service is wonderful and they treated my dog like a king with a beautiful dog bed in front of the fireplace and some treats in his bowl when he arrived. “Located near the White Mountains AND the lakes, AND allowing our dog to stay with us in the room was enough reason to try this wonderful little inn. We received a very warm welcome, enjoyed a beautiful spacious and pristine suite, and hiked a nearby trail that offered spectacular views of the lakes. In the evening, we walked to the Common Man for dinner after some cheese and wine with the other guests at the inn. Breakfast was delicious and there were many items to choose from. We would definitely stay here again. Glynn House Inn: “Beautiful New England B&B without the overly foo-foo Victorian decor”

A belated thanks to the guests who stayed with us and wrote a gracious five star review. We don’t like ‘foo-foo’ either. Our circa 1895 Victorian Inn filled with beautiful original features wood staircases floors and window frames. The huge windows in the dining room are curved. The radiators in the main building reflect meticulous design. The Inn also has all the modern amenities 21st century guests demand including free high-speed WiFi, DIRECTV and world-class linens. We’re also very particular about cleanliness. Our guests continuously tell us our housekeepers do a first-rate job. We agree!

“My partner and I wanted to stay in an older authentic Victorian B&B for a cozy winter get-away, but we are not huge fans of the uptight feeling and over-the-top decor of some classic Victorian places. Glynn House was beautiful and comfortable -- lovely historic home with appropriate but comfy furnishings. And modern amenities -- gas fireplace, DVD player, carpeted room (gorgeous original wood floors in the rest of the house.) Enjoyed the lovely era-appropriate decor without having to worry that some hideous roses and vines wallpaper was going to come alive and strangle us in the middle of the night...

Friendly innkeepers and lively complementary wine happy hour with the other guests, a nice mix of people. Delicious huge breakfasts. “We stayed in July 2012 but never got around to a review. The innkeeper and his family were very kind to us. We conducted ourselves reasonably politely and never had an issue with rudeness. The innkeeper kept us company during breakfasts with fresh-cut fruit and gluten-free food. He was also wonderful in suggesting local attractions to mix up our stay; we loved the mountainside drive, Squam Lake tour and Squam Lake Inn restaurant on our last day. The Common Man was another great recommendation. if you are someone who's kind, patient and understanding with your innkeepers you will have no problems here, and enjoy your stay. Glynn House Inn: “Everything a B&B Should be!” - Reviewed August

A belated thanks to our guests from Boston for share their experience at the Glynn House Inn with
other travelers.  Our location really is incredibly convenient for those living in the Northeastern part of America or Quebec – two hours from Boston, three hours from Providence, three plus hours from Montreal, four hours from Hartford and five plus hours from New York City. Our breakfast menu has expanded during the past two years. Guests now have 14 entrée choices each morning – all quite delicious.  The Inn now has five pet friendly rooms including a wonderful self-catering apartment named after President Lincoln.

“My wife and I stayed at the Glynn house with our 4 month old puppy, Brewster, for our anniversary getaway and we would go back in a heartbeat. The inn is conveniently located right off route 3, minutes from route 93. It’s a short drive to Squam Lake and a bit further away from Winnipesaukee. Glenn, the owner, gave us a map and recommended some fun day trips to do with our puppy. 

The room was excellent – clean and spacious. They even set up a small day bed for Brewster, which he loved! The room had a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower, and also had a flat screen TV with Direct TV. It was great to have that country B&B feel, but to also watch a little TV before going to bed each night! 
 
The food is amazing. They offer one sweet and one savory breakfast option, so my wife and I got one of each and split them. I got an omelet with fresh tomatoes and goat cheese while my wife got the ricotta stuffed French toast. I couldn't get over how delicious each one was. I was so sad that we had to leave a little early on our last day because we missed Ingrid's (the chef) specialty, eggs benedict! They also serve wine and hors d'oeuvres everyday between 530 and 630, which serves as a great way to meet other guests and the innkeepers. 
 
Above all, the service is what sets this place apart. The innkeepers are a husband, wife, daughter, and Miles (their dog). This family is very well traveled and is great conversationalists. My wife and I loved going to their "happy hour" just to spend more time with the family. Not to mention they loved our dog (and vice versa of course). Brewster was showered with treats and affection and he loved every minute of it.

Glynn House Inn: “Base camp for hiking with dogs!” – reviewed November 2013

The author is absolutely right – it is difficult to find attractive properties that accept dogs. We have five canine friendly rooms – all are decorated to the same high standard as our other accommodation. The Lincoln Garden Apartment has only been available since July. It’s been a real hit. Guests like the fully equipped kitchen, the private patio, the king bed and all the space. The price is right too.  We’re delighted our hiking, dog friendly guests enjoyed their stay. “There are many great places to lodge all throughout the White Mountains but finding a place that is as accommodating to dogs as is the Glynn House is not always easy. We highly recommend this beautiful Victorian inn in Ashland. Our suite was a private apartment called the Lincoln Apartment, with a full kitchen, private entrance, fully fenced in with a patio and grill. When we arrived, Ruby immediately found the dog treats left in the dog dish and there was even a plush dog bed that looked as comfortable as was our king size bed. I was not afraid to indulge in the gourmet breakfasts, nearly licking my plate clean, since we'd be hopefully working most of it off on the trail. Pam is quite the cook and Glenn was unbelievably helpful with suggestions for hikes and places to go for lunch. We had no plans for Sunday and by the end of breakfast, Glenn had our day planned with both a road map and trail map of our next hike. We really appreciated his warmth and genuine caring for his guests. Many of our guests elect to stay at the Glynn House to celebrate special occasions, weddings, anniversaries, holidays, graduations and more. Many return year after year.  We’re delighted the guests from Bedford, Massachusetts enjoyed their stay. Our new Lincoln Garden Apartment has been a huge hit since it was opened in July. Guests like the space, the flexibility, the décor and the price. “We spent two nights here for our 33rd anniversary. We were so cozy and comfortable in the new very modern Garden Apartment. It was lovely to come back after an invigorating (chilly but beautiful!) long hike with our dog Edie to cuddle up in front of a nice fire in the gas fireplace. It was very romantic to grill our own steaks on the patio while sipping our drinks. The little kitchen is very nicely equipped. 
Then in the mornings we were served the most delicious breakfasts in the tower room in the main house. The furnishings are just beautiful, the house is gorgeous -- the curved glass windows in that tower room are very impressive! And speaking of impressive, Glenn's knowledge of the area and his helpfulness is nothing short of awesome. The whole family were warm and welcoming. They were truly dog-friendly -- Edie had a dog bed to sleep in, dog dishes, her own towel, and dog treats waiting for her when we arrived. And as an added bonus, she got to play with their dogs.

Glynn House Inn: “The perfect find”: Reviewed 2 days ago

Wonderful to read that our April visitors from Australia describe our Inn as “the perfect find”.  We’ve had many visitors from Australia during our seven plus years owning and operating the Glynn House. All have made similar comments. Our location – right in the middle of the most spectacular scenery in the state – truly is ideal, easy access to al the best New Hampshire has to offer. One dozen quality restaurants are less fifteen minutes from the Inn. Our innkeepers and staff really enjoy guests. Visitor satisfaction is how we measure our success. Our Australian review may have taken a few months, but it’s certainly worth waiting for. Thank you!

“We stayed here in April (so yes it has taken me a while to post a review) but didn't want to let that stop us passing on what a gem this property was. We did not know the area at all and were looking for a location that would give us good access to all the region has to offer. We did not want to be somewhere overly busy but at the same time we wanted access to restaurants and comfort. And yes we found it here in spades. Our arrival was later than we had hoped and we were very stressed as we had driven from Bar Harbor that day and hit a snow storm on the way in. We were not familiar with the road or the car (or even snow) and our GPS became an enemy as it kept trying to take us down every back road for the quickest path....not so quick when you won't get through!!. So needless to say when we arrived to a picture postcard B&B and were warmly welcomed and shown to our room. I just wanted to curl up there and then and never leave but we were hungry and our host was able to point us in the direction of a quick walk to a cosy feed. (And on subsequent evenings offer suggestions & arrange reservations that were all perfect matches for what we were feeling like that day and how far we were willing to drive for a dining option). 
Having settled into our lovely room the location of this B&B was great for getting out and touring the area and each evening wine and cheese in the parlour was a lovely addition for chatting with other guests and hearing their stories. We met some lovely couples and one in particular who use this B&B as a regular getaway. We were, and still are, incredibly jealous that they have this property so easily reachable from Boston and can understand why they keep going back year after year.

The furthest a 15 minute drive. We agree with the reviewer about hiking options too. There are dozens and dozens of trails, varying levels of difficulty and all a short drive from the Inn. Spectacular scenery? You bet! Thanks for the comments about our gourmet breakfasts – 12 + entrée choices each morning. The Roosevelt Deluxe Suite is our biggest – canopy bed, stone fireplace and bubbling whirlpool bath. We look forward to your return visit.

“Spent an early November weekend at the Inn. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed to their beautiful home. The Inn is immaculate and elegant. The Owners went out of their way to be sure we had all the local information necessary to make our short stay wonderful. Plenty of fine restaurants within 15-20 minutes, and a fun local town one too. Hiking in the area is phenomenal and the scenery if you just want to drive is spectacular. A wonderful area to visit. The breakfasts were excellent and the coffee was great too! “Our travels took us from Louisiana to New Hampshire to enjoy the crisp fall weather and the beautiful and colorful foliage. Our group of 4 were overwhelmed with the beauty of the foliage and the friendliness of the people of New Hampshire. Our wonderful trip to New England was made even more pleasurable with our stay at The Glynn House. My husband and I, along with our dear friends spent 5 wonderful days in New Hampshire enjoying the beauty of the fall leaves. We travel extensively and always stay in B&B's when possible. Our stay at The Glynn House exceeds any experience that we have ever had. Glynn and his lovely wife and daughter went out of their way to make EVERYTHING about our time with them extraordinary. “As repeat guests, I'd like to share our (many) reasons for returning regularly to the Glynn House Inn over the past several years. Begin with the Inn's beautiful, well-appointed rooms and suites and the inviting common areas. Add the thoughtful, friendly service and convenient location. And then there are the terrific breakfasts and afternoon wine and snacks! “We spent 2 nights at the Glynn House and will definitely go back. The room was large, beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and spotless. I mean really spotless -- there was nothing to indicate that this was one of the pet-friendly rooms. Breakfast was delicious and large enough to fuel us into the afternoon. The owners were attentive without being intrusive, very friendly, and extremely accommodating to all of our needs. They seem to love what they do. As for being pet-friendly, they really mean it. Other hotels may grudgingly allow dogs to stay. The Glynn House provided a dog bed, water and food bowls, and dog treats, all without us asking. “My wife and I stayed here for three nights in the Jefferson Suite on the third (top) floor. It was a wonderful experience. A very large room and what seemed to be a brand new (and very expensive) mattress on the bed. 

Every morning there was a choice of two breakfast items and they never duplicated. Glenn, the owner, went out of his way to make recommendations based on our interests and has a supply of discounted tickets to most attractions. 

We peeped in the other rooms and all of them looked inviting. Ashland itself is a charming place, and gives a wonderful flavor of true New England. (Final note: we stayed there two days before the hurricane it. Many thanks to our guests from the United Kingdom who took the time to share their Glynn House experience with other guests.  Ballooning is one of the many recreations options available for visitors – a terrific way to view the spectacular countryside. For those who enjoy heights – bi-plane rides, Zip-Line Adventure Tours and rock climbing are a sample of other options. “Stayed early October. After 1 hour of being in Ashland I realised we had not booked for long enough. Glenn welcomed us on arrival. He could not have been more helpful. The evening cheese and wine hour was great. Time to quiz both Glen and the other guests about places to see. Glenn's wife and daughter also great company. Can't believe the negative things I have read from other guests. Ashland itself is a little sleepy but check out The Common Man bar on the main street. We kept returning for each meal while in Ashland be it a snack or dinner. Used the link on the website to High 5 ballooning and took a sunrise trip over the woods. Great team and wonderful photos of the turning leaves. “We stayed at the Glynn House Inn, 4 nights of a two week trip to New England, to see the fall color. All of our trip was at B&B's in Boston, Chatham (Cape Cod), Kennebunk Port and lastly at the Glynn House in Ashland NH. This was an excellent room with a great quality bed. The best breakfast's of the trip and most importantly, Glenn and Pam were the great hosts and advisers on routes to drive and restaurants to eat. We recommend staying 2-3 nights minimum at each location of a trip to have time to explore the area, soak up the local culture and meet the other guests coming and going. This is a great central location for both the mountain region and the lakes region of NH.”

Glynn House Inn: “A Storybook Stay” - Reviewed October 29, 2013

The couple from Waco, Texas stayed at the Inn for several days. They kept telling us what a wonderful time they were having. Now, they’ve been gracious enough to share their experience with everyone who reads Trip Advisor. We’re delighted and very grateful.  Like many earlier visitors, our guests learned that our base in Ashland is perfect for those who want an active holiday – recreation options are virtually unlimited.

“When these two Texans decided we needed some autumn color in our lives, we had no idea how much we were going to receive when we came to NH. We decided to pick a location fairly central which would give us easy access to as much as possible. 

We found The Glynn House Inn online and decided it would work for what we wanted from our trip. Not only did "it work" but it exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we arrived (and every time we entered after) we were welcomed by the incredible smell of someone baking. We had lots of laughs with Glenn, Pam, Ingrid and their puppies! Everything was neat and well kept. Our room was lovely and cozy--especially with the fireplace! 

Breakfast was absolutely unbelievable. 'Delicious' doesn't even come close to describing the yumminess that was set before us every morning (Thank you, Pam and Ingrid!). Glenn went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our breakfast as well as taking the time to offer any help or suggestions for our day's activities. 

We often made our plans based on what he suggested and we were never disappointed. Because of its perfect location, we were able to see a wide variety of places and scenery. We found ourselves "playing hard" all day long and excited to "come home" to The Glynn House every evening.

Thanks to our guests from Arizona for sharing their Inn experience with other travelers. Our complimentary wine and cheese is very popular with many guests. As our reviews note, the social hour provides a relaxed opportunity to meet with other guests. “My wife and I spent last week visiting Vermont and New Hampshire, to enjoy the fall beauty. Our time in New Hampshire was made extremely comfortable by selecting the Glynn House Inn in Ashland, NH. The service was outstanding and the personal touches by the owner and his staff were exceptional! He took the time to make dinner reservations for us, give us detailed guidance for the best places to visit during our stay, and make sure that we were completely satisfied with everything.

Breakfasts were a very pleasant experience with great food and great service...And, the cocktail hour, with wine and snacks, was also something that we did not want to miss. Both were really good opportunities for us to meet people from all over the world. Being from Arizona, we thought we would be the ones traveling the furthest, but not so...we met people from London, and Scotland. 

Overall, it was a very nice experience, and we would recommend the Glynn House Inn to anyone looking for a great place to spend a few days while visiting New England!

“While, for most of the year we live in England, we have a summer home on a lake in Vermont and have, for the last twenty years spent the falls in Vermont and, for the last sixteen of these years, have spent our wedding anniversary in an Inn in Vermont or New Hampshire. The Glynn House Inn is one of the friendliest Inn's we have stayed at. Our room, which was not one of the more expensive rooms, was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. The advice we received from Pam and Glenn with regard to what we should see, on what was our second visit to the Golden Pond area, was excellent, as was Pam's advice as to where to go for dinner.
